Rosemaling means “rose or flower painting” in Norwegian. The Norwegian Folk-art of Rosemaling began around 1750. This class will focus on the Valdres style, which originated in the Valdres valley and is known for its strong floral motif.
We will start by learning the basic strokes of rosemaling, progress through color mixing and working with oil paints, and finally paint your own design to bring home or give as a gift.
PLEASE NOTE the different times for each day.
If you wish to sign up for an optional third day to have an additional three hours to work, please sign up separately for Rosemaling in the Valdres Style-Day 3. You will also be able to sign up for this during class.
