with Bert Hyde
Ely folks know there is no bad weather, only bad clothing. Beaver hats, mittens, and gaiters are just the answer for those deep wind chills, to which Bert can attest. You will learn how to measure, cut and sew pattern pieces from beaver hide and choose whether to make a hat, mittens or gators. You will receive instructions for adding the liner, where needed, at home, using glue and hand-stitching. Students should bring the material of their choice for the liner.
About the instructor: Bert Hyde is an experienced woodsman, do-it-yourselfer and folk school instructor.
